Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Crux Data (“Crux,” “we,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit cruxdata.io or work with us as a client.
1. Who we are
Crux Data is a small marketing and web operations team based in the United States. If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, email preston@cruxdata.io.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out a form on our site — including the contact form, the plan signup form, or the custom plan builder — we collect the information you provide. That typically includes your name, business email address, business website URL, any notes or messages you send, and (on plan forms) the services or plan you selected.
Information collected automatically
When you browse cruxdata.io, our hosting provider and analytics tools may automatically collect:
- Your IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and screen size
- The pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and how you arrived (search engine, ad click, direct, referral)
- Cookie identifiers used for analytics and advertising performance
- A small amount of data stored locally in your browser (specifically, your theme preference for the site)
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries, send the proposal you requested, and provide the services we’ve been hired for
- Improve how the website performs and how we communicate
- Measure marketing performance, both for our own outreach and for clients whose campaigns we manage
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to train AI models.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed to deliver our services. Those providers include:
- Squarespace — website hosting and analytics
- Formspree — processes our contact and signup forms and delivers them to our inbox
- Google — Analytics, Search Console, and (where we run them) Ads conversion tracking
- Our email and CRM tools — used to manage client communication and proposals
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: keeping the site functional, measuring how it’s used, and measuring whether our marketing works. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work as expected if you do.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep contact and inquiry information for as long as we have an active relationship with you, plus a reasonable period after that for our records and to comply with legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we have about you
- Correct information that’s inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information (we don’t sell it, but you have the right to ask)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To make a request, email preston@cruxdata.io. We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re in the EU, you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
cruxdata.io is intended for business audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we collect. No internet transmission is ever 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we’ll do our best to notify active clients directly.
